Reading Time: < 1 minute

A flyweight number 1 contender fight is rumored between 2nd ranked Askar Askarov and 6th ranked Kai Kara-France scheduled for UFC Fight Night – Blachowicz Vs Rakic on March 26th, 2022 in Columbus Ohio.

At UFC 269, Kara-France notched his biggest win to date with a first-round knockout of the former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and is currently on a 2 fight knockout streak.

No doubt Kara-France will want that rematch against Brandon Moreno after losing to the champion via decision at UFC 245.

The same can be said of his opponent Askar Askarov, who’d fought the current champion in his debut ending in a split draw at UFC Fight Night – Rodríguez Vs Stephens.

The undefeated Askarov has only had 4 fights in the UFC, but they’ve all been against top-level competition.

Rattling off three wins in a row against Tim Elliott, Alexandre Pantoja, and Joseph Benavidez.

With Moreno vs Figueiredo 3 set for the co-main event at UFC 270 and the end of the Moreno Figueiredo saga.

It’ll be good to get a clear number 1 contender.
