Khamzat Chimaev has released a screenshot of DMs with Gilbert Burns, with both parties agreeing to fight on April 9th at UFC 273 in Brooklyn New York.

Currently, Chimaev is ranked number 11, and Burns is ranked number 2.
So Chimaev can leapfrog over most of the diversion with a win here over Burns.
Furthermore, Chimaev being the UFCs current golden boy they will no doubt be wanting him to fight Usman for the belt as soon as possible.
Burns is a massive step up in competition.
He has extremely heavy hands and has the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the welterweight diversion.
He also has shown he’s able to go the distance seen in his recent wins of Stephen Thompson and Tyron Woodley.

The Woodley fight being a 5 round main event.
So far in Chimaevs career, there are still lots of questions that haven’t been answered.
What’s he like over the distance?
How good is his striking?
So far he’s just smashed through everybody in the most dominant fashion only absorbing 2 strikes in his first 4 UFC fights.
The striking we have seen from him is his knockout victory over Gerald Meerschaert in which he threw all of 4 strikes before knocking out Meerschaert 17 seconds into the fight.
It’s certainly a fight all fan will want to see let’s hope the UFC get this booked.
