Nonito Donaire – Officially The Oldest Bantamweight World Champion

38-years-old boxer, Nonito Donaire just made History!

Also known as The Filipino Flash, Donaire became the World Champion in only 4 rounds by knocking out two-time Olympic Champion Nordine Oubaali.

The 3rd round was intense with Donaire knocking Oubaali down twice, with the second knockdown being just before the bell. Oubaali, quite badly injured after that knock was given a second chance by the referee. The fight went on to the 4th round where Donaire finished Oubaali with a big shot.

With Donaire winning the match he becomes the oldest recognized boxer to win the bantamweight belt at the age of 38, breaking the record of Gerry Peñalosa that won it at the age of 35-years-old in 2007.
